Dora Brkarić

Dora Brkarić (Pula, 1996) is a dance artist and choreographer. She holds a degree in Contemporary Dance from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb and continued her education in choreography and composition at UNIARTS Helsinki and SNDO (School for New Dance Development) in Amsterdam. She has collaborated with a number of international choreographers, including Simone Aughterloney, Flavia Pinheiro, Matej Kejžar, Sanna Myllylahti, Andrea Božić, and Mehdi Farajpour. Her own work includes dance performances such as S T R I P T E A S E, S A L T, and Which football team won a basketball competition, as well as audiovisual and experimental film pieces like Life is GREJP and an_Hum_an. Dora’s artistic interests revolve around the exposure of identity, the expressiveness of the repressed, and the degrees of presence. She often presents her work outside conventional theatre spaces – for example, her performance S T R I P T E A S E was shown at GMK Gallery in Zagreb and NOVO Gallery in Pula.
Dora is a member of the curatorial team of the Improspekcije Festival and a permanent member of the Zagreb Dance Company.
